Research & Curatorial Intern

Position Overview
The Ukrainian Museum seeks a motivated, detail-oriented Research & Curatorial Intern to assist with ongoing exhibition and collection projects. The intern will work closely with the Museum’s director, adjunct curator, collections manager, and project manager, supporting research, documentation, and preparation for upcoming exhibitions.
This position is ideal for a student or emerging professional in art history, seeking hands-on experience in curatorial research and exhibition planning.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research on artists, artworks, and historical materials for upcoming exhibitions and publications.
- Assist in the development and editing of exhibition materials, including wall texts and labels.
- Draft summaries, timelines, and object descriptions for internal records and grant-related reporting.
- Provide general support to the curatorial and project management teams as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong research and writing skills; excellent attention to detail.
- Background in Art History, Museum Studies, Cultural Studies, or a related field.
- Interest in Ukrainian or Eastern European art and culture is a plus.
- Knowledge of the Ukrainian language is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team environment.
Compensation
This is an unpaid internship; academic credit may be arranged in cooperation with the intern’s educational institution.
