SAFE: Winter Resilience | Grant Call for Museums in Ukraine

The Ukrainian Museum in New York, in partnership with the Ukrainian Museums Association in Kyiv, is opening the second round of SAFE Grants to support Ukrainian museums and the people working to sustain them through the ongoing war.

Winter Resilience as a Priority

For this round, SAFE will prioritize projects that help museums prepare for another severe winter amid continued war, blackouts, and attacks. We are especially interested in practical, infrastructural support that helps museums remain safe, functional, and connected to their communities during power outages and extreme weather.

Eligible expenses may include heaters, portable power stations, generators and battery-storage equipment, power banks and charging stations, emergency lighting, connectivity equipment, insulation and other winterization materials, as well as furnishings and equipment needed to establish or adapt museum spaces as resilience hubs, or punkty nezlamnosti.

We also welcome proposals to develop and program these spaces inside museums. Lectures, workshops, screenings, children’s activities, and other cultural programs can transform museums into places of connection, learning, and support when they are needed most.

Deadline: October 15, 2026
